The Benchmarking Standard.
PACE — Productivity Analysis and Cost Evaluation — is the benchmarking tool for logging operations. It converts a company's full product mix into a common unit (tons), then calculates cost per ton and tons per machine hour from real overhead, payroll, fuel, and equipment data. The output is a complete cost-by-product report: dollars per MBF for sawlogs, per cord for firewood, per ton for pulpwood and chips.
